For years, the system conditioned me to chase what money could buy.

I believed that with more money comes more comfort, security, status, purpose, and meaning.

I would work tirelessly—endlessly—accumulating possessions and reaching for the milestones society told me were signs of success and rightness.

But in the end, the true value of money lies in something far more powerful than things. Money, at its core, is a tool for autonomy—the agency to choose how you live, who you become, and what matters most to you.

Autonomy isn’t about indulgence or luxury. It’s about control over your life. It’s about the ability to walk away from what no longer serves you, to shed obligations and expectations that weigh you down.
